The Sahara group won the IPL T20 franchise Pune on 22nd March. Abhijit Sarkar chose Pune as it is close to Aamby Valley and because of other business reasons.


Second bid was for Kochi $333.33 million by group of passionate cricket investors. They are people from Kerala including other parts of India and abroad. The group includes people like Vivek Venugopal, builder from Kerala also includes Ravi and Sanjay Gaikwad Mumbai based business man, Mukesh Patel runs management and technology institute, Rosy Blue Diamond (world’s largest diamond manufacturing company), and company from Gujarat Anchor Switches owned by Mehul Shah.

Kerala association is in process to build cricket stadium in Kochi. Till the stadium is not ready alternative venues will be provided to the teams. Pune has a stadium under construction. Sources said to have IPL stadium in Kochi for some of the matches to include Kerala.
